Our Library
Welcome to Morning Star Library. Our library collection contains over 17,000 wonderful books and other materials for students to check out. We have over 7,000 colorful picture books to entice young readers to explore all the genres: folktales, mysteries, legends, fantasy, science fiction, biographies, historical fiction, poetry, graphic novels, and nonfiction.
The library also has a large collection of chapter books for young readers including many popular series such as Geronimo Stilton, Magic Tree House, Junie B. Jones, Pony Pals, Secrets of Droon, Pendragon, Warriors, The Royal Diaries, and Dear America Diaries.
The nonfiction section of the library is extremely popular too. Students check out these books for recreational reading and to help them with class projects. Animals, sports, drawing, history, and science topics are some of the students’ favorite nonfiction sections.
Meet Morning Star’s Librarians
Nancy DeWolf has been a librarian in Bozeman for 26 years. She grew up in the Motor City, Detroit and brings her library lessons to life with puppets and art projects. She received her Master’s Degree in Curriculum with her focus being integrating the arts into the curriculum. The ever changing bulletin boards of literature related student art reflects the students’ creative interactions with books. Mrs. DeWolf’s favorite genre is fantasy, and as a child her favorite book was Millions of Cats by Wanda Gag.
Renee Jesness has come from Minneapolis Public Schools where she worked with all the library media specialists in developed library curriculum and in integrating technology. Ms. Jesness loves project based learning and cannot wait to have the Morningstar students use their talents on creating reports using iPads. Ms. Jesness loves all sorts of literature, especially read-aloud books, Caldecott winners, and Native American stories. She is also a big fan of ereading so be sure to check out Follett Shelf in the Morningstar Online Catalogue.
